‘Empowering the voices of parents and carers to promote children’s rights’ 

This webinar will launch the ‘Parents Connect Wales’ online hub, which will provide information and materials to support parents to share their views on national policy and related matters.  

We will be showcasing some of the exciting work that has taken place over the last year, as parents have been supported to ‘get involved’ and ‘have a say.’  You will have an opportunity to have first sight of the photo stories and art exhibition, where hundreds of parents across Wales share their unique and creative insight into ‘Life as a Parent in Wales’, showing both the joys and challenges of parenting.

Speakers include:

Fatiha Ali and Anna Westall, Development Officers, Parents Connect Wales Project, Children in Wales will officially launch the online Hub. They will share the project's achievements and journey so far, as it works to promote participation and parents' voices in support of children and young people. 

Jacob Guy, Sports Development Officer, 'For Dads, By Dads Programme', Torfaen County Council. Jacob will share the professional benefits he has gained from his involvement with the 'Parents Connect Wales' project, as well as the importance of his work engaging with fathers and supporting them in the parenting journey.

Catherine Plagne-Ismail, Sanctuary Project, EYST Wales. Catherine will talk about her experience of running an art workshop as part of the 'Parents Connect Wales' consultation. She will also talk about her work in Swansea engaging with parents from a sanctuary-seeking background.

Anwara Begum, Family Support Worker, KidCare4U, Newport. Anwara is a member of the 'Parents Connect Wales' parent steering group and also works with parents in Newport. She will share her in-depth knowledge and understanding of the needs and barriers of parents from ethnic minorities and provide an insight into the work of KidCare4U.

'Grymuso lleisiau rhieni a gofalwyr i hyrwyddo hawliau plant'

Bydd y weminar hon yn lansio hyb ar-lein 'Cyswllt Rhieni Cymru', a fydd yn darparu gwybodaeth a deunyddiau i gefnogi rhieni i rannu eu barn ar bolisi cenedlaethol a materion cysylltiedig.

Byddwn yn arddangos peth o'r gwaith cyffrous sydd wedi digwydd dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf, gan fod rhieni wedi cael cefnogaeth i 'gymryd rhan' a 'chael dweud eu dweud.'  Byddwch yn cael cyfle i gael golwg gyntaf ar y straeon lluniau a'r arddangosfa gelf, lle mae cannoedd o rieni ledled Cymru yn rhannu eu mewnwelediad unigryw a chreadigol i 'Bywyd fel Rhiant yng Nghymru', gan ddangos llawenydd a heriau rhianta.

Catherine Plagne-Ismail, Prosiect Noddfa, EYST Cymru. Bydd Catherine yn siarad am ei phrofiad o gynnal gweithdy celf fel rhan o'r ymgynghoriad 'Cyswllt Rhieni Cymru'. Bydd hi hefyd yn siarad am ei gwaith yn Abertawe gan ymgysylltu â rhieni o gefndir sy'n ceisio lloches.

Bydd yn rhannu ei gwybodaeth a'i dealltwriaeth fanwl o anghenion a rhwystrau rhieni o leiafrifoedd ethnig ac yn rhoi cipolwg ar waith KidCare4U.
